Who We Are
We are thrilled to introduce you to Cacao Hunters — a craft chocolate company born in the lush, diverse landscapes of Colombia and now arriving in the United States. As a co-founder of Cacao Hunters, I am proud to share not only award-winning chocolate but also a story of purpose, connection, and deep respect for people and the planet.
Our journey began with a simple yet powerful idea: great chocolate starts with great cacao, and great cacao begins with strong relationships. In 2009, we set out across Colombia — from the coastal Sierra Nevada to the depths of the Amazon — in search of the finest native cacao varieties. Along the way, we built lasting partnerships with local farmers and indigenous communities, working hand in hand to grow and preserve exceptional cacao while ensuring sustainable livelihoods.
At Cacao Hunters, we craft bean-to-bar chocolate entirely at origin, in Colombia, where the cacao is grown. This allows us to maintain full traceability, honor the value of local knowledge, and retain the true flavors of each unique region. Our bars have been recognized internationally for their taste and quality — but what makes us most proud is the impact we’ve seen in communities once affected by conflict, now thriving through the power of cacao.
To our new U.S. audience, we offer more than chocolate. We invite you into a movement — one rooted in biodiversity, transparency, and the belief that origin matters. Whether you’re a retailer, chef, or a passionate chocolate lover, we welcome you to experience Colombian cacao like never before.
Thank you for letting us share our passion with you. This is only the beginning — and we’re honored to have you with us on this journey. “Its never been about the Chocolate”

All our actions seek a triple impact

Social Impact
Create pride in the cocoa industry, ensuring the care and preservation of local crops.

Economic Impact
Generate decent incomes through the sale of a better product thanks to good planting and post-harvest processes.

Environmental Impact
Encourage the implementation of productive systems based on regenerative agriculture criteria.
How do we do it?
Farm School
Education with a technical emphasis on traditional farm models and business models for entrepreneurship.
Technical Assistance
Focused on productivity: Initiatives that ensure current and future generations see profitability in their farms and in the cocoa business model.
Applied Innovation
Share the best and latest harvesting and post-harvest practices with our partner family farms.
Farm School
The “Finca Escuela,” more than just a place, is a strategy for learning about the territory and teaching and sharing our knowledge. One of our goals is to ensure that young people remain in the region through the development of agricultural service ventures for cocoa. We teach producers what they need to acquire knowledge and expertise in specialty cocoa production , closing existing knowledge gaps. Our teaching methods are aligned with understanding the territory, adapting to the specific ways in which the community interacts with and learns from its environment.
The "Finca Escuela" also makes us students ; the communities have specific practices and knowledge from which we can learn and replicate.
Each School creates a planting model consistent with the region's farming systems and a physical infrastructure for training our audiences.

Technical assistance focused on productivity
Actions to improve harvesting and post-harvest processes to achieve better cocoa beans and more sustainable farms.
We accompany farming families with an expert extension agent to share the knowledge we generate collectively for application on their farms.

Currently in Colombia, cocoa productivity per hectare is very low , but it improves substantially with the right genetics and good planting practices.
We strive to ensure that each farm implements innovative methods for the disposal and reuse of organic waste.
Beneficiary families are provided with:
- Technical extension.
- Agricultural services necessary for your farms to be productive.
- Guaranteed purchase of cocoa at high and stable prices.

Applied innovation
We want to generate added value in cocoa through new and improved knowledge applied in the field. We want to discover new opportunities and uses that generate greater value and better income for cocoa-producing families.
Our technical staff assists several families on their plots, and one of these farms will serve as a model of good practices for other producers.
In our Cacao Lab in Popayán, Cauca, we explore various applications and uses for cacao. Through this lab, we aim to achieve:
- Explore other uses for cocoa mucilage and other components of the fruit.
- Increase the production and purchase of specialty cocoa.
- Closing drying and fermentation gaps.
- Create micro-processing plants in the territory to connect producers with innovation processes.

We want to continue growing in Colombia and we dream of 3 schools in:
